I use the slow cooker a lot, really handy for flavoursome cooking...

Also, this year, I have been using the end of a barbeque session to slow cook stuff...nice flavour on low heat for at least a few hours until the heat dissipates completely...

It made a decent cup earlier, but if you try Googling for info about how best to use it, you find yourself in a world of people so obsessed with coffee that they make the peculiar ravings of the wine buffs look cogent

Ahem... It's all about the beans. The cheapest machines with the best beans, beats the £10000 machine with supermarket beans/coffee chain beans (which are all stale). See my earlier link for a recommended roaster.

I know its a bit kitsch but take a pirate boat out, lovely trip and swimming in beautiful coves. On board drinks are expensive.
