I did it the last year they had it in the county we lived in, but it was just on a normal schoolday.
Mind you, it resulted in me going to a school that had a six-day week; maybe I would have been better trading one Saturday at the start for all the ones I lost over the next seven years
Thirty-five years ago, I was at the Last Night of the Proms. My brother had got free tickets through the law firm he then worked at, who were among the trustees of the Albert Hall and so got tickets for everything, which were (unless a partner wanted them) up for grabs to the staff. But then he realised he was away in the Lakes that weekend, so he gave them to my Dad and I. They were excellent seats, rather than standing with the hoi polloi, and it was a really enjoyable evening
