The cages have a mesh big enough to get a .22 in. Back of the head, or like the one did yesterday, it tried to bite the muzzle so I took the shot. I then reload and follow up with a second shot from a different angle to make sure.

So they stand on the plate at the front and the cover comes up for them to feed. It's set so that a pigeon/crow/jackdaw isn't heavy enough to open it, but a squirrel or pheasant can.
