just wasted another hour after foolishly downloading some Windoze(tm) updates and uninstalling BT Desktop Help.
It then came up with "System Event Notification Service not loading" or somesuch nonsense.
After reading some incomprehensible gibberish on the interweb I just restored the fecking thing to a fortnight ago and fixed it (claws crossed) that way.
I've never used system restore before.Comment

So, now, having had my bath, I shall watch last evening's epic offering of "Bones".
Sunday night's NCIS LA was end of season.
Next Sunday's 50 is end of season.
Last Tuesday's "Castle" was end of series.
Last Tuesday's "Grimm" was a fantastic end of season.
Last Tuesday's "Tunnel" was end of season, but I've not watched any of that yet.
Next Friday's "NCIS" is end of season & the last of DiNozzo.
Thursday before last's "Elementary" was end of season.
There's feck all to watch.
Ho hum.Comment

Still no sign of rain although, according to the radar, it's in all the surrounding areas, just carefully avoiding coming here
The lightning map shows lots of action in Warwickshire and down Surrey way at the moment. I enabled a bunch of the features accessible through the row of icons at top right, and now it has rays shooting out from the detectors' locations all over the country to show their bearings on each strikeComment
