Now some blokes are up in the cherrypicker bit of the lorry, fiddling around with the top of the pole. I assume something is going to be attached there, probably a camera of some kind. With a bit of luck it's a combined red-light-and-speed camera to catch the morons who go way too fast and ignore the crossing, of whom there are far too many driving along here
And finally, we see the result: traffic lights, just like the traffic lights that were already there, but doubled in number - the lights are repeated towards the top of the pole. Presumably this is so they can be seen from further away, though not much further, as the railway bridge up the road will block the view of them
