WHEN SUDDENLY: homemade chicken soup was finally ready, made with the carcase from this week's roast; and very nice it is

It's dangerously healthy, though, having carrots and celery in it as well as meat. I wrapped the carcase in muslin to stop those little bones getting everywhere as it fell apart; then, after it had all simmered for a couple of hours, I put the soup through the blender to reduce the vegetables to pulp, as otherwise I would have eaten the liquid and the meat and ended up with a bowl full of carefully-avoided bits of well-cooked carrot and celery

I had a good-sized bowl with some bread, and am now waiting for my digestive system to react with horror to the ingestion of vegetable matter

I should make soup more often. Probably not starting around ten at night like this time, though

Anyway, there's plenty left for lunch tomorrow, and quite possibly Monday too

            Make lentil soup.

That'll put hairs on your chest.

Indeedy. I had 3 people ask "Nice holiday?" . After the first's discomfiture, I went with "Yes, thanks."

I think I'm going to go back to bed.

Ever so slight case of bunkitis after last night's tasting.
