We've decided to do the legwork ourselves - sending off certificates to everyone and getting statements of value, then hand it over to the solicitor to fill out the appropriate forms (for £650+VAT). Need to get jewellery/antiques and flat valued too. On the plus side, it seems we can also get my father's allowance passed on - so we can go to £650K before inheritance tax (won't be anywhere near that, but will be on the borderline for the 325 so saves us worrying).Comment

I've stuck £10 of the stuff in the ZeitFiat in the last 3 weeks.
Aluminium radiators probably make it essential.
