Stone me, what a load of bulltulip bingo. Seems all of the second-rate ex-polys are doing this too: I've experienced very similar things in my last job. At least here is Russell Group and a bit too arrogant^Wself-confident to be resorting to hiring in bulltulip merchants.

    I feel for you Zeity!

With any luck it'll take yonks to build the pile of tulipe down in the docks so I should be long gone before it transpires.

One bright idea is to do away with desktop pcs and just have laptops & tablets.

Which should make the hard core programmers* endlessly happy.

As to making them less clueless, I dunno really, since we don't currently cater for the self motivated upper echelon*** anyway.

We specialise more in giving people a chance that other more prestigious places won't.**

*Not sure we get lots of those. Though you can tell the game programmers by the smell.

**They tend to take them in, take the money & kick 'em out, whereas they get a lot more support here. We have had customers go on to do doctorates at places like Imperial and Kings, though that is unusual.

***They, rare as they are, stick in the memory, along with the totally useless tools we get now & again.

            I'm not.

That Chorosynth thing I've been working on for the last fortnight doesn't.

            Work, that is. Ho hum.

In other news I had an interview for a gig, so here's hoping.
                  Good news about Mr N

And good luck with the gig

                    Home, and weekend!

Journey home has taken well over two hours. On the bright side, I've collected parcels from the Amazon Locker and the Royal Mail place out in the middle of nowhere, stopped off at Halfords for some oil, and done the shopping, including picking up a Blu-ray player - from Sainsbury's, no less

It feels odd sticking such a sophisticated piece of electronics in the same carrier bag as 5lb of spuds, but such is the nature of the modern retail experience

Tired. Don't think I'm going to make it to anything resembling an adult bed time.
