I think this skirt has shrunk since I last wore it...

It would appear that I didn't renew the car breakdown cover in January. Very unlike me.

Unfortunately, that doesn't help my wife, who is stuck by the side of the road waiting for someone to come and tow the car home.

Oops indeed. The first time in donkey's years that we've needed breakdown cover and I've not done it.

Oh well, someone is coming in the next 40 minutes or so, then she can take the people she's with home in the van instead.

New tyres ordered now, and they are coming to the house on Monday morning to fit them - cost an extra £1 to do that, but it's easier that way.

To cap it all, my printer jammed when I printed the new policy.

And then when I got it unjammed, ran out of ink.

I think that might be my cue to give up and go to bed already!!

To the chippy for tea. The couple who own it aren't very happy at the moment. There's a very large mirror in the first floor flat above the shop across the street, and at this time of year the evening sun behind their shop is reflected by it straight into their faces as they work behind the counter

As if it wasn't bad enough in summer to be working in close proximity to several gallons of boiling oil and a couple of hot cabinets, they now get blinded for about half an hour every day…
