Back from the chiropractor and have been truly beaten up, there were some awful cracking noises today.

Man has been to look at the leaking roof.

He couldn't see much because it's right at the top of the house, but he'll put together some guesswork and let me know. They're the best roofing company around here, so they'll get the work, but I just want some idea of cost.

It's frustrating - in 12 years living here, it's leaked twice.

But I know there is something wrong with it, so I'll get it fixed. He couldn't put a ladder up because it's still too flipping windy.

There's also some work at the back of the house that needs doing, which we'll get done at the same time.

And when the scaffolding's up, we'll get the chimney(s) lined so that we can have a wood burning stove in the front room downstairs.

Been meaning to get one for years, but have been waiting to have scaffolding up to do it.

And while I have *some* money spare at the moment, it would be a good time to get it all done.

Wood burning stove will help the lounge stay warm and dry. Which means that we can then get the walls redone, and the ceiling done where it's been falling down for a few years.

Work never stops in old houses, they told me. They were bloody right.

On the plus side, at least it's not a church.
