There are many fine points of engineering design to admire about Apple products, but the bit where the (low-voltage) wire comes out of the power supply is not one of them

Mine just finally achieved sufficient breakage to stop powering the MBA. It's been on the way for ages, but it looks like being wound and unwound twice a day has finally done for it.

I daresay I could have got a roll of pure white insulating tape from the Apple Store for about £25/inch, but I decided to make do with the black one I had in a box under the sink, which probably cost about tuppence when I bought it in a pack of four, donkeys years ago. It turns out that, despite being the wrong colour, it works perfectly well to hold the wire in a position where it maintains contact

They should hook up a generator to him, though I daresay they'd have trouble getting the power from it if they used one of their own leads

Just been asked to join a taste panel for a local cafe, nothing huge but I get to try their new menu in advance and a discount

Needed petrol but couldn't be doing with the motorway at rush hour, so I came home, then went out later and stopped at the Chinese on the way back. Beef chow mein FTW!

                    Mmmm, my fave.

I especially love crispy noodles when you can get them.
