I'm amazed at the speed with which the houses are being built where the nearest pub used to be.
It's a small site but they're fitting 6 houses onto it.
It's taken about a fortnight for the ground works.
At this rate they'll have moved in by Xmas.Comment

One of my favourite pubs - and a favourite workplace, as I worked there for three glorious years - was knocked down towards the end of the last century, so they could build yuppie flats. However, due to being in the old part of the city, the archaeologists got to have a go at the site. They found a Roman cemetery under the Gents, down the far end of the back yardComment
