            Good point, but that's where some of them were going...

            As it happened, the shops weren't too bad and all flowers have been distributed. There now remains just the small matter of getting the puncture fixed which I seem to have picked up on the way.

                    Very windy today and its now very evident that the windows are shot to tulipe. Not good when you get a draught.

                    Double glazing costs a small fortune here, and there is no way the bank will let us extend the mortgage to facilitate.

                    Better start saving.
