In preparation for midnightman and the brutal, today I did 140 mile cycle in 10 hours. 4 hours of rain, 2 torrential, including cycling in 30cm of flood water.

I took on board 3.5 litres of fluid and 3000 calories - via lucozade energy drink, chocolate, yorkie cookies and malt loaf.

Fluid intake sounds a bit low, especially in the heat we've been having. Should be aiming for around 0.5l/Hr of something isotonic, ideally with some carbs in it as well.

I've got 1.5 litre of water in fromt on me. And have a couple of cups of oxo too. Now having chicken curry + rice. Is that enough?

Shouldn't you look into proper sport hydration drinks, water isn't going to be enough.
