I took on board 3.5 litres of fluid and 3000 calories - via lucozade energy drink, chocolate, yorkie cookies and malt loaf.Originally posted by BrilloPad View PostIn preparation for midnightman and the brutal, today I did 140 mile cycle in 10 hours. 4 hours of rain, 2 torrential, including cycling in 30cm of flood water.Comment

Fluid intake sounds a bit low, especially in the heat we've been having. Should be aiming for around 0.5l/Hr of something isotonic, ideally with some carbs in it as well.Originally posted by BrilloPad View PostI took on board 3.5 litres of fluid and 3000 calories - via lucozade energy drink, chocolate, yorkie cookies and malt loaf."Being nice costs nothing and sometimes gets you extra bacon" - Pondlife.Comment

I've got 1.5 litre of water in fromt on me. And have a couple of cups of oxo too. Now having chicken curry + rice. Is that enough?Originally posted by DaveB View PostFluid intake sounds a bit low, especially in the heat we've been having. Shouldn't you look into proper sport hydration drinks, water isn't going to be enough.Originally posted by BrilloPad View PostI've got 1.5 litre of water in fromt on me. And have a couple of cups of oxo too. Now having chicken curry + rice. Is that enough?Comment
