          It's a conductive cage, inside of which all points are at the same electrical potential, so no current can flow.

          All the current from the lightning strike passes through the body of the cage without affecting the contents overmuch.

          Hence those chappies in the chain mail suits in the Tesla coil vids.

            There's lunch done & dusted, the last of Sunday's beef done with onions & carrots.

            I did sommat wrong (probly not enough cornflower?) coz the gravy was distinctly watery.

            But it all tasted ok.
