      Bob's helpful installation instructions for the thingy he's just delivered;

      Installation steps for Thingy, and CM
      (20140312 Copied from QC Test Plan module, path \01 Product Test Cases\03 HLC\ 03 HLC Components\ 11 Thingy)
      V2.0

      Uninstall:
      - Open a Cmd prompt As Administrator
      - Run D:\Thingy\ CM_Thingy.Last\install_scripts\Uninstall_all.cmd
      - Rename D:\Thingy\CM_Thingy.Last\ to D:\Thingy\CM_Thingy.Previous

      Copy Deliv:
      - Copy all folders from <project>_Thingy_deliv.zip into D:\Thingy\Thingy.Last\
      - Copy CM_Thingy into D:\Thingy\CM_Thingy.Last\

      Configure CM:
      CM_Thingy:
      - Copy D:\Thingy\CM_Thingy.Last\CM_Thingy\Config\deployme nt.properties to deployment.properties ORG
      - Edit D:\Thingy\CM_Thingy.Last\CM_Thingy\Config\deployme nt.properties
      . Set port of parameter "url_http_to_cm_pdm" to 9421
      . Set parameter "validation_from_wst" to true
      . Set parameter "validation_to_wst" to true
      . Set parameter "plc_host" to plc_host
      . Set parameter processid_tc to CONV_02992301

      - Copy D:\Thingy\CM_Thingy.Last\CM_Thingy\Config\Thingy_c onfig.xml to "Thingy_config.xml ORG". (Do not leave an extension of xml, as that will create another instance of the CM)
      - Edit D:\Thingy\CM_Thingy.Last\CM_Thingy\Config\Thingy_c onfig.xml:
      . Set retryinterval to 40000. (BPI, OPM, PDM, except for deliverToWST)
      . Add the following to the >httpClient instances (BPI, OPM, PDM, except for wst) (This allows UFT to respond with an OK in time when a message has been sent to UFT):
      <readtimeout>1800000</readtimeout>
      rem . Set intervalTime of ApplicationLogFilter to 30. (was 30000, but is multiplied in code by 1000 as well?)

      ?- Delete C:\CM_Thingy\Log\Thingy\

      Install CM:
      - Ensure the following is in the hosts file:
      # Thingy
      127.0.0.1 PLC_Host
      127.0.0.1 CM-BPI
      127.0.0.1 CM-OPM
      127.0.0.1 CM-PDM

      - Open a Cmd prompt As Administrator
      - Run D:\Thingy\CM_Thingy.Last\CM_Thingy\install_scripts \Install_All.cmd

      - Verify startup:
      . Check C:\CM_Thingy\Log\Thingy\appl.log (There may be just 1 error about location.prop, and cm.prop)
      . C:\CM_Thingy\Log\Thingy\error.xml does not contain any errors.
      . C:\CM_Thingy\Log\Thingy\log4j.log does not contain any errors.

      Configure Thingy:
      - Rename D:\Thingy\Thingy.Last\Com.clientco.Thingy.Core.exe .config to Com.clientco.Thingy.Core.exe.config ORG
      - Edit D:\Thingy\Thingy.Last\Com.clientco.Thingy.Core.exe .config
      . Set Workstation ProcessId to MCS_23015801
      . Set Workstation ZoneId to 58
      . Set UPPER LANE to AreaId 2301, ZoneId 44, StationID=30
      . Set LOWER LANE to AreaId 2301, ZoneId 45, StationID=31
      . Set PackageInfoRequestWaitTimer to 60 (To allow UFT to send a PackageInfo message before the timeout has elapsed.)
      . Set process_is_target of OPM to OPM_02997181
      . Set process_id_target of PDM to PDM_02997115
      . Set process_id_target of PLC to CONV_02992301
      . Set sendUrl to http://localhost:8083/CM_Thingy?sender=mcs

      - Copy D:\Thingy\Thingy.Last\Configuration\FrameworkConfi g.xml to FrameworkConfig.xml ORG
      - Edit D:\Thingy\Thingy.Last\Configuration\FrameworkConfi g.xml
      . Set displayMode="windowed" (was kiosk) (This way the Thingy is not opened maximized, but can be resized.)

      Configure STUB:
      Use Stub only (no CM, no UFT)
      Perform the following step if you want to use the Stub to exchange messages with the Thingy:
      - Edit D:\Thingy\Thingy.Last\Com.clientco.Thingy.SystemSt ub.exe.config.
      <Channel listenUrl="http://localhost:8083/" sendUrl="http://localhost:8082"/>

      Use Stub (with CM, no UFT)
      Perform the following step if you want to use the Stub to exchange messages with the Thingy:
      - Edit D:\Thingy\Thingy.Last\Com.clientco.Thingy.SystemSt ub.exe.config.
      <Channel listenUrl="http://localhost:9421/" sendUrl="http://localhost:8083/CM_Thingy?destination=mcs"/>

      Use STUB and UFT
      Perform the following when you want to use the Stub to send messages to Thingy, and use UFT simultaneously.
      This way the Stub can be used to SEND messages to the Thingy. It listens on an unused port.
      - Edit D:\Thingy\Thingy.Last\Com.clientco.Thingy.SystemSt ub.exe.config.
      (with CM)
      <Channel listenUrl="http://localhost:9999/" sendUrl="http://localhost:8083/CM_Thingy?destination=mcs"/>
      (bypassing, or without CM) USE THIS AS STUB USES XML MSG ONLY!
      <Channel listenUrl="http://localhost:9999/" sendUrl="http://localhost:8082 "/>
      (Either CM or UFT listens at port 8083)
      And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

        Still not that keen on eggs. Didn't eat any for over twenty years, and only really have the occasional omelette since I decided to give them another try last year

            And a bit of black pudding, and maybe some tomatoes, and mushrooms.

                I had a mate who did hog roasts at events and he used to do a big breakfast butty, with everything in it.

                He also did one with beans, which was quite messy.

                  But you wouldn't need ketchup with it

                    I've just had a quorn "pork" pie.

                    It was, er, how shall I put it?, er, "unusual".
