MrN out this evening, so a nice meal of poussin with a half bottle of 2009 Saint Emillion grand cru planned.
He's not a big fan of poussin as he doesn't like wrestling with fiddly bits.Comment

Half bottles of good wines are quite affordable at my local wine merchant. Had a good Volnay Santenots 1997 at the weekend and the half bottle was much less than 50% of the full bottle price; the chappy said there's almost no demand for half bottles of fine wine so you can pick up some bargains. And he also said that the half bottle of 97 was better than the full which wasn't as intense; it was indeed very good.Originally posted by norrahe View PostMrN out this evening, so a nice meal of poussin with a half bottle of 2009 Saint Emillion grand cru planned.

It's difficult trying to find places that sell decent stuff in half bottles.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostHalf bottles of good wines are quite affordable at my local wine merchant. I also need to find a decent wine merchant as next year, I be looking to blow a significant amount on stocking the new wine cellar.Comment

The shop in Zwolle often has some good halfs, but I haven't been to any of the others. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014Comment
