Yup. Seems to be happening more frequently now.

She's very afraid of falling over, which probably doesn't help.

The old Al Zheimer's ain't exactly helping either.

Grandmother-in-Law does a lot of that. At least she's in a care home now where there is someone to pick her up again and make sure she's ok.

GMIL has dementia and the falls go with that. We tried to hold off the care home for as long as possible but it just wasn't working, even with home care three times a day. In hindsight we should have gone down the care home route earlier. It would have saved a lot of stress and worry on all sides if we had.

While its not nice to go that way by starting early you have time to find a nice home rather than be stuck with the first one with a vacancy.

Plus by getting them in slightly earlier they may know where they are and not end up quite so confused later.....

It's going to be very difficult because despite the Al Zheimers, she still knows her own mind, if you know what I mean.

Though I think the realities of the situation are beginning to dawn.
