For some reason, even though we have a TEAM of DBAs and a release manager, I'm in charge of this release.

And the downstream systems haven't been tested at all with this change. It's only an update to 10000 employee records, so it's not an important thing to have tested end to end.

Although I have witnessed the useless PM getting a kicking via email from the business users for letting it get to two hours before release before he realised that it hadn't been tested.
