thats why asians have a lot of plain (natural) yogurt, subdues the food thats too spicy to eat...
There was yoghurt in it as well.
The rice took the edge off the heat, that's why they have bread or rice to accompany these dishes. ( I was taught to cook curries by Asian flatmates at uni).
I was trying out a new recipe from a cookbook that HyperD bought for me ( Cafe Spice Namaste, New Wave Indian cooking by Cyrus Todiwala), and followed the recipe to the letter, might just leave in the chillies and not the chilli powder next time.
I do like a mango lassi with my curries but find it a tad too filling.
