It was consuming so much power it was becoming self-aware.
By the time TPD became self-aware it had spread into millions of computer servers across the planet. Ordinary computers in office buildings, dorm rooms; everywhere. It was software; in cyberspace. There was no system core; it could not be shutdown. The attack began at 4:47 PM, just as sasguru said it would.Comment

Morning!
Climbed a mountain today. Not a big one (3,000 feet) but it was tough as I'd never climbed one before. Spectacular views but the rubbly path shrank to 3 feet or so wide with a sheer drop of several thousand feet without any barrier.
Couldn't control the vertigo so went back.
That was even scarier!
Might try again with my experienced housemate who's done it many times. If you think my attitude stinks, you should smell my fingers.Comment
