        Stone me.

Brought in a Dataman S4 programmer to read the EEPROM out of one of the esteemed customer's projects.

Naturally enough, it doesn't know anything about that one (24c256) coz the library is about 12 years old.

So, download an updated library from Dataman.

        Easy.

        which requires a 27C256 eprom.

        Not so easy.

Eventually found two in an old 286 mother board.

        Never throw stuff away.

Next trauma was the forgetting of the serial RS232 lead.

So, despite interruptions from the esteemed customers, I've managed to make another RS232 lead.

Just as well the manuel is in the S4 case.
