About half a gallon less now that I've finished with it

Still, I believe they get that one in firkins, so even if I was the only one indulging (which is very unlikely as it was busy tonight) they'll still have eight-and-a-half gallons left

The cellar there is too small for barrels (36 gallons) to be a practical option; when I worked there, we had the Tetley Bitter and the Ind Coope Burton Ale in kilderkins (18 gallons) and the ABC and Benskins in firkins (9 gallons).

Now they still have four ales on, but they get all of them in firkins, and two of them change pretty rapidly - at the moment, Greene King Abbot Ale and TT's Landlord are the ones that seem to have taken up residence.

They no longer have any particular tie to Carsberg-Tetley (which, via a long chain of takeovers and mergers in the industry, used to have a hold over them as the result of a deal with Allied Breweries t/a Ansells in the late Eighties), which frees them up quite a bit in terms of their options. They do have some kind of arrangement with the company that delivers that restricts them to a certain range, but if I understand matters correctly, said company will add things to its range on occasion - the other year, Gaz found a Cornish ale he really liked when he was down there on holiday, and got them to add it to the list. It still turns up quite regularly, as do other ales from the same brewery; and as a result of its wider availability through said distribution company, I've since also found it in a pub in Bristol

            Hi RC

A little harsh on Tubby, although admittedly he/she/it hasn't contributed massively over the last four years:
