Surely nobody would be so devious... oh, hang on, I'm thinking of Slashdot, where everybody is scrupulously honourable in their utilisation of The System

My Slashdot ID# remains at four digits, and is prime - and I didn't buy it off eBay

Bum. The missus says the bin needs to go out. It's silent out there ... what do I do?

The wheely bin has gone out. SWMBO decreed it. It was very full.

It is the only wheely bin out there on the street.

I do hope it was worth waking the neighbours for.

Now I've got a cough from going out in the cold, damp air.

Can't I just type in 'xyzzy' somewhere?

Quite possibly. The ways of Jobserve are strange, and not to be understood by men who walk upon the earth.

Or at least, it seems, not by those charged with running their systems

Unless Toolpusher and Zippy are bots?

You know, when I was 20 years younger, I would have flooded this site with bots.

What I don't know, is why I haven't done so now.

I'd love to know why my drive light is on 95% of the time. The guilty party looks like CSRSS.EXE or LSASS.EXE

I would rather it was the apps causing the bottlenecks, not the o/s.

Another mystery is why Firefox uses up 40% to 60% of my CPU and takes 3 minutes of disk activity when shutting down.
