It used to be the case that RU was amateur, and RL professional. Therefore RU was seen as a gentlemans' game, while RL was for the peasantry who needed to top up their earnings from t'mill

My former employer, when he was a student, made a tidy sum playing RL - because it was seen as a different sport, he didn't jeopardise his status as an (amateur) RU player and was much wealthier than any other student

Anyway, I've had to disconnect and reconnect seventeen - no, make that twenty-four - times to get this through, so I think I'll give up - Goodnight

Ah, that could explain my otherwise inexplicable prejudice.

      Goodnight.

I am cooking roast lamb for dinner this evening, so it is time for me to put it in the oven.

Only one and off, for a day or two.

When I get back home I shall be connection free once more.

Mind you, I don't seem to have missed much this past nine days.

I bought some English strawberries in Costcutters yesterday.

When I got back to the room I saw they were of that special kind of English:

                  Hoogsraten
                  Milieubewust Teelt
                  Externgecontroleerd
English in the way that William of Orange was English.

Although I haven't looked in TPD yet.

I presume vdf is better and eating for Britain. I presume CM & the Doggie haven't found a room yet. I presume NF is still suffering the decline and fall of middle England but doing his bit to keep the streets safe at night. And given the current post count, DS23 has big, black bags under his eyes.

The new house is delightfully spider-free. I saw one garden spider scuttle in when I opened the front door. I saw a big house spider out by the back door. And that is all. A reduction of about 98.4%
