That's what I have, albeit the Japanese import variant (aka "Eunos Roadster") of the Mk1. Amazing fun for very little money.
Where are we going? And what’s with this hand basket?

actually, it won't be long before only specialised mechanics will be able to work on it. you'll soon find yourself with a car that is transformed from a cheap and cheerful oldie into a classic. parts and labour start going up!

I know Dave, the guy I take it to, is getting close to retirement age, but his son has been working alongside him for about twenty years, is equally competent, and is going to carry on running the business. Hopefully he'll be able to remember how to fix it

Assorted files have now been retrieved from my FTP server so I can get on with some w*rk - that must mean it's time to pop over the road to the cob shop for a bacon cob

One advantage of being at home is that I can start at around eleven, take a proper break every now and then, and still get a full day in by carrying on into the evening. On site, they close the building at half seven in the evening, which makes it harder to get most of the week crammed into four days

                that's good.

i commuted for years in my 30+ old car. loved it and miss it terribly but i don't regret buying (nearly) new and staying (nearly) new ever since. the inconvienience of breakdown, grubby hands, overheating, fuel inefficiency. apologising for being late (clients and family). not a good thing.

then there's the cost of maintaining an old car doing serious mileage one quarter and then sitting unused the next. i budgeted a minimum of 2k a year just for standard maintenance. unexpected stuff some years would easily double that.

i was spending too much time tinkering with it when i had no time to spare. family and security took over so it had to go. nevermind. it was fun for a while.
