Probably would be very popular with gamers but GW are *very* touchy about their IP.

Yeah, I get that impression too - particularly after the debacle with the fan movie a while back. There is an old desktop application that does much of what I want to do with this iPhone app, but it isn't actively developed any more (not due to anything sinister or external pressure from what I've read). There is also at least one other Warhammer utility application for the iPhone, so hopefully I'm on safe ground. I have also considered approaching GW with the idea to see if it's something they would be interested in getting involved with.

The guys in the shops are hobbiests but the head office guys are a lot more corporate.

The last two managers of our local store have been quite senior, having previously been involved with the head office in Nottingham (somewhere I still haven't been, but they made a great job of it judging from the photos I've seen).

Sounds good. There seems to be some really good revenue possible for peeps who develop decent apps.. I've got a few ideas of what I'd like to see, but not even an ounce of technical skill with which I could construct it..

What you need is a geek to help you implement your ideas.
