So I don't know what to do.

I sent my Sainsbury's loyalty card back.

I took it out when they first appeared. I dutifully used it for months and did not shop anywhere else.

After about 8 months they sent me a load of vouchers. For nappies, make-up and ladies sanitary items.

I sent the vouchers and the card back with a sharply worded letter asking where they thought I ought to stick the tampons and that they can stick their card in the same place.

When I was most recently on the bench and things were a bit tight, I was able to use two years of Nectar points to get three weeks' food shopping with the addition of trivial amounts of change. I still have another couple of weeks of feeding myself on the card, ready for the next time cash is short.

A penny in the pound mounts up in the long term. Thinking about it, at least a couple of those three weeks included wine and/or beer.

Actually, one included a rather expensive wine that was almost exclusively devoted to a boeuf bourgignon. But it was free, in the sense of having been paid for by much prior shopping, and the meal cheered me up

I never actually use the vouchers they send though: just the points. They add up in the long run

And at that rate, there's over 18 hours reading still to do.

And I do have other things to do, like eat and sleep.

So my body is desperate for sleep.

Perhaps I need more beer!

Anyway, where was I?

I think this may be a futile exercise.

I may actually have to give up.

But what effect would that have upon the morale of the chaps?

So I don't know what to do.
