There are those who've used an ASR-33 hooked up to a PDP-8/e, and those who have never heard the tolling of CTRL-G...

(I love one particular sentence on that page: "The teletype was quite noisy during operation, loud enough to need to speak up to be clearly heard when talking while it was printing." We had two in the computer room at school )

I'm glad BEL popped in and allowed me that little flight of nostalgia - I've spent the last few hours brooding over the whole potential-new-gig business, but remembering those days on the PDP8/e makes it all seem rather trivial

It must be about thirty years ago that I used lots of different-coloured paper tapes (containing old buggy versions of matrix multiplication programs) as streamers to decorate my bedroom at Christmas
