There is no clock in that sense. It's a complex set of rules relating to the definition of "period of continuous work" (which is working more than 40% of one's working time - actual, not theoretical or contracted, time), and the determination as to whether a workplace is a permanent or temporary workplace, where "workplace" can be interpreted as relating to a locality rather than to an organisation, and where a workplace can be considered to be temporary if there is no expectation that one will carry out a period of continuous work for more than twenty-four months, unless certain other rules apply which mean that the workplace is in any case a permanent one and cannot therefore be temporary.

Assuming that the twenty-four month rule applies and that therefore the workplace is deemed to be a temporary workplace, then it would be necessary to work elsewhere such that the work done at that workplace would constitute less than 40% of one's work (therefore not a period of continuous work) during the period covered by the twenty-four months and any period after the twenty-four months during which one continued to carry on working at that workplace.

    Or something like that.

It appears that spending one day a month supervising a seal sanctuary might help

Ooooh I like seals!!! They're cute
Eeyore was very glad to be able to stop thinking for a little, in order to say "How do you do" in a gloomy manner to Pooh.
"And how are you?" said Winnie-the-Pooh.
Eeyore shook his head from side to side. "Not very how," he said. "I don't seem to felt at all how for a long time."
