      Three minutes late departing

Still, it's non-stop to London so we'll probably make it up

Very hazy in Hertfordshire... almost misty enough to be called foggy out in the country

I fear that doesn't work with me.

I just lose interest & write it off to experience.

I've just fixed a radio cassette recorder/player thingie.

There wasn't really anything much wrong with it, since it worked when you plugged some batteries into it.

However, someone had soldered (badly) some wires to the mains input figure of 8 connector thingie... and there's a little switchy thingie inside the connector thingie that enables mains power & disconnects the batteries.

Once I'd removed the wires it worked ok off the mains.

                  Sounds quite nice too.

Though while I had it in bits, I squirted some switch cleaner into the volume control to clear the crackles.

Apart from cleaning up the leaked developer in my etching room, that's the most constructive thing* I've done all week.

*this is not saying much of course....

I also found my predeceased predecessor's bootleg copy of "The Division Bell"... I've been looking for that for ages & ages.
