Is there any mileage in having a storefront for PS clients to buy consultancy days in advance?

Makes little difference if you're under the direction and control of the end client.Originally posted by rob s View PostI wondered if it would help better fit or evidence a consultancy / deliverables type contract. The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn't existComment

I don't really see where you're going with this TBH. Assuming that you don't have an army of consultants the end clients are going to have to call you up to schedule work anyway, so what's the value add?
In fact given that you'll have to pay some sort of transaction fee for online payment processing, surely you'll be worse off?And the lord said unto John; "come forth and receive eternal life." But John came fifth and won a toaster.Comment

I guess it's the same as having some form of call off work order. I always thought they carried more weight than a traditional bill for days but I can't find anything now so maybe I just imagined it.Comment

Are you thinking purely in terms of putting yourself outside IR35?Originally posted by rob s View PostI guess it's the same as having some form of call off work order. If so, and you've got confirmed payment, you're making the financial risk element worse! The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn't existComment

You also need to understand the frameworks the PS use to get work. Digital Specialist, Contingent Labour, NMNC, GCloud. They all have a specific way of working and if you are one then certain options are just not available. No way can you do this on a standard CL1 contract and possibly others. You might have to look to GCloud for that type of contract.
Need to understand your situation and make reasonable decisions based on that. Just throwing random, ill thought out guesses in to the pot helps no one.'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!

And if the question hadn't already been asked, then it will help anyone else considering the same thing, which is several other contractors near me as I type.Comment

Yup. Quite a few of them kept coming to me with harebrained ideas when I was in the PS as well. A couple of them knew what they were doing and went away to do business with people that had influence though. I wonder who's going to come out on topOriginally posted by rob s View PostYou left out OJEU.
