I am new admins - may I have the ability to send PM's as well?

08/09 was my last year contracting using TRM (with its numerous company name changes).

I'd be interested in Michael's seminar and I know two other ex TRM who would be too.

Michael, I will email you once I have the rights to do so. I'd like to thank you and everyone on this forum. Had my letter yesterday. Been reading this thread and the TRM thread. The letter was fishing for info, with sentences like "We believe the loan was actually payments for work in the UK.

Some ex colleagues are still using TRM and TRM are acting on their behalf - doesn't seem to be the case for ex trm people.

Yes but you (or your promoter) should also contact the tax office, which you have been dealing with over the assessment, and play hell.

COP8 (enquiry) vs Discovery Assessment Notices

Michael (or any other fountain of knowledge)

hopefully I can get along to 1 of the seminars - they should be insightful.

In the meantime, I was hoping you could briefly explain the difference between the Discovery Notices/Reassessments that have been issued for the 08/09 years, and the COP8 enquiries, which for prior years are still open.

Do you know if there was also a COP8 enquiries opened for the 08/09 years and beyond ?

              Regards

There are not too many clients with a COP 8 enquiry for 2008/09 but many for earlier years and 2010/11. That is the short reply. Looks like the seminar could be going ahead and there is separate thread now under EBT Seminar.

Finally got my letter through the post as expected.

A question - The NI number they have for me and using as a reference is totally wrong!

Will send the appeal letter but will just leave the NI number thing alone i think.

                    Received my letter

I am an ex talent employee and recently received the discovery assessment of income tax letter for 2008/2009 from Ms. Stopp

                    Have engaged Gilberts

My concern is if this goes to litigation, who is going to be the poor soul who has to stand up and pay for the barrister fees?

I have been trying to contact them since I sent my appeal letter on 25th February (arriving on 26th by special delivery) and they have said (via recorded message!) I should not call again until 1st April (April Fools?!) as it is taking them 5 weeks to respond to letters. Today they have industrial action too so I couldn't get through.
