Hi all,

Has anyone recently received a 'variation of Section 8 Notice Decision' letter? I received one but checked against original determination and there is no variance to value...

Recieved mine today too. It’s almost identical to the original, but it now specifies the periods covered by their decision. Not sure why it’s taken them 10 months to update this detail. It looks like our original appeals still stand I don’t think there’s any further action required?

Maybe this has been covered already and I have missed it but does 'payment on account' mean the whole amount HMRC are chasing or can it be any value to simply stop any further interest accrual?

Also, having just receive the 'stand still letter' has anyone taken legal advice or professional advice as to which way to respond to this?

No nothing that I can see. Oddly, the day after I then received the standstill agreement letter

I don't know if it's true or not but I heard that HMRC had quoted posts on CUK from scheme users in a High Court case several years ago.

It's not only HMRC. I was quoted in The Times from a Phil Manley thread.

Oh yes, it's true. I would have liked to have heard what the judge made of the userids.

It’s probably a mixture of protecting “proprietary” information (i.e., profit) and protecting the case itself. HMRC do read these pages.
