    New THL email

    Guys hi,

My take on these THL emails.....just laugh at them!

They say they are working on behalf of these low life scamming trusts and want you to login onto their 'portal' to assist you in making an informed choice to settle or not with HMRC and that they need a copy of your Passport etc for ID purposes. IGNORE IGNORE IGNORE !!!

Then they throw in that you need a deed of release for HMRC to get off your back if you want to settle with them, and they are too happy to give you all the info they have on you and help write off the loans, but the deed will cost you 5% of the total amount of Loans outstanding.........do you smell the rat yet, scratch the bottom of their email, "scratch n sniff" you will soon know what im talking about. SCAMMERS SCAMMERS SCAMMERS !!!

In the latest email I have received from THL states that they are working closely with HMRC and that HMRC have asked them if I had my loans released by obtaining a copy of the 'Deed of Release'. THL also state they will shortly reply back saying that i have not done so but before doing so the Trust want to bring to my attention how to write the loans off for settlement......are you guys laughing yet?

If these new scums on the block are working with HMRC then why is it our buddies in the counter avoidance team not asked THL for the names and addresses of the directors/trustees/promoters so they can answer questions how these schemes were set up and why did they lie to us saying these were all HMRC compliant schemes????? Because my accountant and I have failed to contact the scheme providers / trust for answers as they all disappeared / shut down when I started to get HMRC investigation notices. One would think if they all disappeared then the loans all disappeared.....but no, the phoenix rises from the ashes to grab the last 5%......how does that happen?

If they have risen from the dead then HMRC should go after them like they always said they would...but never successfully brought anyone to justice (correct me if im wrong here.....anyone).

People, do not engage with these scums, do not reply / login / upload ID....ignore them, all they want is the 5% then they will disappear. They threaten me indirectly that if i do not do what they ask then the Trust may start to charge interest and will ask for the loan to be repaid when due.

.....my answer to these SCUMS........calculate the interest, come find me, 'dig me up' then ask me for the money!!!!

Stay strong people!!! Lets hope all the petitioning / lobbying / letters / voices / judicial reviews are all heard and the government deals with us fairly.

      My own two pence

Hi, just managed to sign up here and wanted to add my own experience. It mainly reiterates what has been said.

I got an email from THL last week which stated:

"HMRC have asked us whether you've had your loans released. We'll shortly reply to say that your loans are still outstanding, but your trustees do want to bring their offer to your attention. As at 1st February, more than half of those who have had the offer document have said they will accept it, and we're waiting to hear from the rest. In summary, your trustees will write off 95% of your loans, which total £.....
      ....
You'll still have to pay income tax on the amount written off, but the offer could help you in regards to the 2019 Loan Charge, national insurance and inheritance tax, plus it means you can never be charged interest or be asked to repay the loans. If you're using HMRC's settlement opportunity prior to the Loan Charge coming in, HMRC will ask you to have your loans released."

I rang HMRC Loan Helpline and they said that they would never speak to anyone of the above and that they aren't interested in the loans, "only the income tax due on the loans" and that it's irrelevant to them whether or not the loans are outstanding.

He also mentioned that the loan trustees are probably behind the emails and that I probably didn't sign anything to state I was going to repay the loans. I can't confirm that part as I don't have the document. When I spoke to the advisor I was dealing with from the original company (who has since left) he said "The term of the loan was 30 years. So unless there was a reason to call it in early. Plus it had to be in your best interest to recall the loan." Again I can't confirm that part either although the he was the relationship manager I dealt with there so presumably in the know.

The last email from THL states it 'needs sorting out ideally by March 15th'.

I'll keep an eye on this board in the hope of more information.

      Footnote:

HMRC said someone started my calculations on January 16th and a letter will be sent out in the coming week or so with payment information.

Is everyone here still ignoring this? Ie not supplying the info requested or paying what they are asking?

Speaking to WTT today or doesn't sound like ignoring is necessarily the right route, more a calculated risk... Has anyone here paid/supplied the info requested?

Hmm. I've not received one yet, but i'll be ignoring it. An offshore tax avoidance scheme tries to extort more money from you, even after coming forward and settling with HMRC. That'll be fun in court.

Ignore. I received several of these emails from these b****rd. They sell the scheme that has been passed QC approval but they all ran away when HMRC knocked tax payers door. Now majority settled with HMRC and THL which is set up by these companies asking for 5% plus £250 charge to release the loans. What is 5% for? Why they can't only ask for £250 which is cost of a admin for each loan. I've so far settled over £600K income of several years with HMRC and now have to pay £30K for them. The cost of tax advisers plus the stress etc.on top of this.

If you do pay, then please let us know what do you get for 5%.

Maybe I'm being slow here (it's the end of the day!) But you're saying that you're settling only with hmrc (circa 30k) and ignoring anything from THL?

I have had emails from at least three "organisations" offering to "help" me through this with various ideas (schemes to solve a scheme). I have not gone back to ANY OF THEM as I consider them SCAMMERS only after more of our money.

Trust Help Line sounds so innocent and helpful - do you actually know who they are? They are after YOUR money, so do your research.

Only deal with HMRC, your accountant or a tax advisor (or the various Groups around of like minded victims) - that is my advice, for what it's worth.

I believe the £30k would be the 5% fee to the THL to 'waiver' the £600k loan.

(Roughly... £30k would only cover the tax on 1 year of 100k loans with HMRC. Blugh)

Why would you want to deal with Trust Helpline.

They call themselves Trust Helpline, but have no telephone number and cannot be contacted on the phone.

It seems they only want you to contact them via this portal. They want your details (passport, utility bill etc) on this portal and I have no doubt you will be paying what they demand via this portal. All your communication has to be done via this portal which is operated by them and can be shut down at a time of their choosing, so all your communication timeline and proof of correspondence/payment disappears.

Its just like a con-man who carries out a con and then runs off into anonymity with you having no proof of the con afterwards or anyway to trace them.

If they were a legitimate outfit, they would have a proper address and not a registered box, a proper telephone number and a proper email address which issues timely responses to emails. And they would not have a director who was starting nursery school when we were starting our contracts.

Check out the older director, she has been a director in some 12 companies, nine of which are dissolved and they all appear to have not reported any P&L.

Check Companies House for the details and make your own mind up.

                      Search Company number 11097772
                      Director DJOMA, Leyya

Also checkout Company number 09403162 where she is a director and the filling history.
