The reality is we live in a world with different cultures, races, religions. If you want others to understand your way of life then you should attempt to understand others'. If you want to be openly Gay then clearly Iran isn't the place to do it. Similarly if you want to condemn Gays openly then the UK doesn't appear to be the best place to do it either. -
No doubt death penalties are problematic, however, there are cases for executions to take place in this country against people like Saville (I know he is dead but you get the idea), mass murderers, terrorists and the like. So the issue here is that they need to reform this area and no doubt will in time. Places like Saudi whom we are best friends with are far worse yet the media completely overlooks that country..... could you guess why?Originally posted by speling bee View PostYou forgot the executions.Comment

How do you know they were gay? It was probably one of those World Naked Bike Ride events.Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View PostThe reality is we live in a world with different cultures, races, religions. They're not a gay thing. They're ultra green , though, and despise cars.
I'd support any fatwah declared on them!Comment

I never said they were Gay, just pointing out that it is more disgraceful that people can be publicly naked than enforcing some kind of modesty (though of course I disagree with forcing women to wear a scarf in Iran).Originally posted by Gittins Gal View PostHow do you know they were gay? So you need to balance the right to be openly gay and the right to condemn gay people?Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View PostThe reality is we live in a world with different cultures, races, religions. As I have already repeated several times, I am saying that you are seeing things only from one point of view. Iran is a different nation with a different culture, yes there are differences but we have our own issues as well.Originally posted by speling bee View PostSo you need to balance the right to be openly gay and the right to condemn gay people?Comment

Yes I see that now. Saudi Arabia is not a great place to be Jewish, but then Germany is not a great place to be an anti-Semitic - like Iran and the UK with gays. I just need to get my perspective right. I'll give it a go and see if I can be a bit more like you.Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View PostAs I have already repeated several times, I am saying that you are seeing things only from one point of view.
