How about fracking? And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014 -

We only had European elections in our area. I voted suitably, but haven't got a clue how that one is going.Comment

Well that's hopeful. I think if they were to oppose wind farms AND fracking they'd have a slight problem in the arithmetic of keeping the lights on and the wheels of industry running.Originally posted by DodgyAgent View PostAnd what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Their position on wind farms may be more nuanced. Aristocrat claims 'relative' owns wind farm land, despite his name on paperwork - TelegraphOriginally posted by VectraMan View PostUKIP are against wind farms and HS2? Who knew?
There's been protests about building a couple of turbines near where I live, and protests about HS2 for years being quite close to the route. How many council seats did UKIP get? That's right, none at all.The material prosperity of a nation is not an abiding possession; the deeds of its people are.

Eh? UKIP are in favour of fracking. And the idea of paying the receipts into a Sovereign wealth fund is an excellent one. If only we'd done that with North Sea Oil as the Norwegians did.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostWell that's hopeful. UKIP would also scrap all the Climate change taxes/scams. Plenty to like there for me.

Another main one for me is cracking down on the sprawling green belt housing developments.Originally posted by KentPhilip View PostAt the local level it is all about giving autonomy for the local areas to decide policy themselves, without having it forced on them from above.
Other issues are anti-wind farms, anti-HS2 etc.
I think its a shot in the arm for local politics. In many parts of the country Councils have been run by one party for decades. Now at least there is an opposition.Comment

Even if there was, there would be no reason to suppose that it would have any long-term validity: BBC News - Nigel Farage: 2010 UKIP manifesto was 'drivel'Originally posted by TheFaQQer View PostIs there some kind of document that one can read to find out what the UKIP policies areComment
