You can have "a people", "the people" and "people". I'm talking about the latter so what's the rule?

It seems more complex than talking about sheep because "a people" is both singular and plural... but if we are talking about the rights of sheep (an important social issue) would it be sheep's rights or sheeps' rights?

If you are referencing the voting of people (in whatever sense you mean), then it is "people's voting".
If you are referencing the voting of peoples, then it is "peoples' voting".

Moi? Highly educated? I think you'll find that everyone, whether a 'highly educated IT contractor' or not has to do it. I know people who are not 'highly educated IT contractors(*)' who do it quite easily. Maybe, just maybe, you can't teach an old dog new tricks

Small green piece of paper with five candidates for the local election, and a triple A4 sized behemoth of a voting slip for the 25 odd candidates for the European bit that took some folding and was difficult to get through the slot into the ballot box.

Is this a good sign for democracy? It can only mean a lot more people getting confused or just plain bored and voting for the wrong party.

The usually provide a booth with crayons and paper for the intellectually challenged.

If you can't complete a voting form and fold it then you shouldn't really be voting...

You are highly educated and smart by virtue of being an IT contractor, compared to the average.

And yes, "everyone has to do it" was my point. That someone like us finds it easy is no endorsement at all, it's like saying a new sportscar is not hard to drive because the Stig can drive it.
