You should see the gazillion different CVs all extolling the same expertise and experience.Originally posted by psychocandy View PostAnyone else heard this a gazillion times from a gazillion different agencies?
For every agency, there are dozens of contractors.
You've got it easy.
If you think agencies are interchangeable, you should see the morass of candidates going for the same role.Originally posted by speling bee View PostExactly, PC. Indeed, saying this marks out an agency as being just the same as other agencies.
Unfortunately, you aren't all that special. Sorry.Originally posted by Stevie Wonder BoyAll pimps are the same ... I'll be your boyfriend, make you good money, I'll look after you baby, trust me...
Then you find out you ain't nothin special....
That's why clients have to pick over several candidates.
Although I am currently contracting, I feel obligated to balance some of the more pointless drivel by the candidates here by my pointless drivel from the agents side.Comment

And if their commission is only 7% I wonder how hot their factoring service is and what their contracts state when it comes to payments..."I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."

Invoice period at the discretion of the Client, normally monthly. Payment to Contractor 14 days thereafter.Originally posted by cojak View PostAnd if their commission is only 7% I wonder how hot their factoring service is and what their contracts state when it comes to payments...
I didn't think the margin was a concern to Contractors (Originally posted by speling bee View PostAnd from their website, it is unclear whether that 7% in inclusive or exclusive of VAT.
) but it is exclusive of VAT

What I find remarkable on CUK is the lack of moaning about agencies. OK we get our fair share of stick but most of the threads that complain about our behaviour/existence are usually turned around and end up with attacks on the OP. I think this is because most CUK users "get it" as far as agents are concerned and know how to use them. As a result very few feel "victimised".
I intend to change that of course and get you lot to be "our bitches"Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyoneComment
