Why do you think your mark up is important to contractors?

And do you really mean mark up, or do you mean margin?

You might want to research what mandatory information a company has to include on their website as well - for example company name, company number, registered office, VAT number if registered and so forth.

PS. Hireonomy is a stupid name.
        wow, that was some venting!

I quite like the idea of being up front on the margin, it means you aren't worried about being done over.

Not sure I have ever had a non technical boss who can tell what I do other than make sure people are happy, I have had a few try but it tends to end up in tears. Same however with clients/managers.

Not sure the agent would either. Just tell us what the customer wants and tell the customers that Steve McConnell isn't available for £10 an hour.

If you find that information out, you might want to pass it onto someone at Deerfoot, since it's missing from your parent company's website as well.

Yes, they mean mark up - see the 'are we different' page

            £300 pd - 15% margin example 'typical agency' - fee = £52.94
            £300 pd - 7% markup fee = £21.

Can't say it's something I ever worry about.

I'm not technical, so perhaps that's why I feel differently on your other points.
Practically perfect in every way....there's a time and (more importantly) a place for malarkey.

I agree that it's nice to know the margin is fair.

Actually it is something to do with you. For if the agency takes a smaller cut then there is more fo the pie for you. So an agency like Hireonomy that (alledgedly) takes a fixed 7% will be able to pay you around 8-28% more than you would otherwise have earned under a different agency.

But that does presuppose that you are yourself a contractor and not in fact an agent, MaryPoppins ?
