What seems to be in common here is

(1) All these dodgy neighbours seem to be in the supposedly friendly Northern paradise
(2) Some contractors seem to be unsuccessful and forced to live amongst thick, chav scum.

Down here in the SE, I regularly meet my neighbours at BBQs or for a pint (and for one set of neighbours it's even progressed to dinner at home) and they seem lovely folk- but then they tend to be highly educated, successful types.

So does that mean that they are the ones living amongst thick, chav scum?
