I'm fairly sure we did too, in fact probably my parents taught it me and they aren't racist; Britain was a lot whiter in those days so I think lots of stuff you'd be hauled over the coals for these days was not racism but ignorance/xenophobia - black people were unusual in the same way albinos are.
