Makes me laugh, I go down south and you lot are a miserable bunch even with your lovely non-raining weather.

I live in the NW, I have parks around me even the countryside if I want to drive 10 mins. There are some fine pubs and restaurants, god I'm even within 30 mins drive of two major cities and both have electricity.

My house also has an indoor toilet with running water. I have fancy fibre optic to.

The gym near me is packed with people exercising and when I'm running through the local deer park people let on and say morning.

We even have places now where they put chairs outside coffee shops and we can enjoy the lovely weather.

We do have some people on benefits yes but I believe you also have them down south.

When I was down south for a fancy do (we used cutlery) I couldn't believe how many Londoners actually believed their city was the greatest in the world (well the two I spoke to on my table). It's a big smelly, dirty city. Get out and see the rest of the country.

They are Bradford/Leeds and have gazillions in funding, educated parents and train abroad.

I am from Burnley, schooled in Blackburn and University in Dundee and agree that these are the most depressing hell holes that time forgot, could not get out soon enough.

Managed to get the parents to move to Bath and Capetown where they enjoy their retirement in a nicer environment.

The NW is more than just parts of Lancashire, its a big bloody place.

I get the feeling if you lived on a paradise island you would complain about the sand, sun and your burnt bits - cheer up.

Its this ruddy mid-life crisis, sorry. I feel like packing it all up and taking a loooooong walk.

I've met some poor souls in my time. And those that indeed fall into the description above. Whose to blame? The state? The individual? Both? Whatever, whoever, it's a sad state of affairs for a modern country such as ours.

What absolute rubbish!! Who is to blame ? How can it be the state ? Nobody has held a knife at the throat and said drink 10 cans of Stella every day ! You reap what you sow, if they decide to binge drink and eat Mcdonalds every day they deserve to die at 50 and placing the blame on the state is just trying to deflect attention away from the fact that they are just obese lazy idiots. Next they will want someone to come and wipe their arse for them.
Vote Corbyn ! Save this country !

Totally agree with you about personal responsibility but I also think we (the state) have for many years paid people to do nothing. So not just ignored them but actually discouraged many of them from working.

You don't think decisions made by those people are precipitated by events with which the state has control?
