Farage vs Clegg

LBC are now country wide on DAB, they are quite proud of it.


Farage got a head to head with a leader of an established party which is great politics, he may be the 4th in the room for the election debates.

It was a big event for him so it seems reasonable he would be nervous. Clegg has got about as high as he is going to get!

The only question I saw was near the end when they were asked why people should trust either one of them because Farage employed his wife and Clegg U-turned on student fees.

Farage answered that he had worked hard and hadn't had much fun; Clegg answered that it shouldn't be about individuals really.

Neither seemed to have heard the question, compared with their answers.

I hate to argue with NLUK . We will have to wait a few days to see if LibDem position in the ranking improved, and if so - at whose expense. As of the beginning of the week - UKiP lost 1% of disenchanted LibDem voters to the Greens, but they scooped up slightly more disenchanted votes from Con/Lab at the expense of SNP.

not according to the Lefty Broadcasting Company. LBC seem to be getting more and more like the Beeb every day.

Actually to be fair, Farage did answer the question. He stated that his wife worked for him for years without remuneration and that he wouldn't be able to do what he does without her help and so she is paid modestly for her work.

Clegg totally avoided the question though.

Farage did drop a bit of a clanger by saying the EU had "blood on its hands" by encouraging Ukraine to rebel against Russian control. His answer on gay marriage obviously didn't go down well either.

Probably the best bit for Farage when he was banging on about 480 million people have the right to come to the UK, and Clegg seemed to repeating "not true". Well it is true, obviously, although that's not what Clegg meant it kind of looked like he was in complete denial. They both got a bit annoyed and wouldn't make eye contact after that.

I wonder where Farage gets the money to pay his wife? Oh yes, that institution that he dislikes yet affords him to not only have a reasonably salubrious lifestyle but allows him to employ family members (and lets not forget that he does tend not to vote for UK interests as well when there.) Then again, where does his wife come from? Oh yes, another EU country which if the EU didn't have the open borders then they most likely would not have met nor married. Hypocrite is possibly too tame a word for people like him, how about money grabbing tulip who couldn't give a toss about the populace because as soon as the EU gravy train drops him he'll go back to the high falutin` world of finance?
