have to agree with that - it looks like a big Focus. The way I look at it is that I spend all my time inside and I want as much stuff in there to make my life easier. This thing has pretty much everything I wanted on it. It was this of the Jag XF which was at least half as much again while being less well equiped.
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

    I preferred version 1!

Golfs as one of the best for saving value so not wrong there. The massive mileage you will make a difference but still one of the least depreciating if you take like for like with most others.

I do that kind of mileage but have bought older cars and just trade em in for the next one. Touch wood I haven't had an expensive failure on anything in 6 years so quids in at the moment. Lap of the gods with this policy though. Am sure something will catch me out one day.

P.S If I thought you were going for a Golf I would have brought my Honda round for you to try. They are very funky cars.
over 2k between the advertised prices. Mk 6 Golf @ 3 years old SE model (cruise, bluetooth touch screen device thingy, auto, 25,000 miles). All that for under 10k and under 7k after trading in existing Golf. Really is a no brainer..... Got 5% knocked off, cam belt change (due later in the year anyway) and 1 year road tax all thrown in. Bargain when considering 12 months unlimited warranty included.

          - The less you pay the less you lose. All cars depreciate at an unacceptable rate. Every single one.
          - Millage vs. age vs. reliability. If its cheap enough it's probably worth it.
          - The cheapest cars can be the most reliable. The more expensive cars have more toys that break.

If you really want a Q7 or X5 ... go and buy it, enjoy it, but be prepared to pay out double/triple for everything.

If reliability was my only criteria, I'd buy a Honda every time.
Honda pretty much dominate the reliability stats (new cars or old) anywhere they're sold and have done for years.
            Hard Brexit now!

I actually ordered a new car around 10 days ago (mentioned it in a thread somewhere) but the dealer rang back last week to tell me that it wouldn't be ready until February-May next year which pretty much put a dent in that. However he's given me 2 offers on my backups so debating on which one to get:

              - BMW 435i Cabrio (mid-life crisis car) which I quite like in particular the fact that they have a metal roof and what with global warming I'll have more chance to drive with it down
              - BMW M3 Limousine (the 4 door one) which is basically just BMW's version of what I was going to get.

              So...fun and games to start

(There was a 3rd and 4th choice but I've kind of knocked them on the head, the BMW M235i and the Mercedes CLA45 AMG.)
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.
