We've had argument by assertion and argument ad hominem. All we need is argument from authority for a full house.
However you want to call it I see it like this;
Let us assume that I believe that mankind is causing the climate to change by turning fossil fuels into CO2
I believe that there are technical solutions to reducing CO2. I also believe that the existence of the problem has led to the build up of huge numbers of vested interests associated with so called "dealing with" the problem. George Monbiot is one as are organisations like Horizon 2020 Helcom and Bonus (even though they are supposedly meant to be dealing with pollution in the Mediterranean and Baltic seas their existence is very much linked to climate change).
So any solution to the problem is therefore unwelcome. If these people did indeed care about climate change then they would investigate any idea with whole hearted enthusiasm - even if it led to a dead end.
I understand in your case such is the nature of CUK that it is more important not to give way on an argument (which is why they always end up with a slanging match), but you yourself quite blatantly refuse to consider a geo technical solution to what is a problem that has been caused by geo technical activities. which begs the question why?
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone
