Accusing others of being pretentious when you think typing the affected and absurd "inneresting" is a good idea, not being a little hypocritical are we? -
Nope. The eruption of Kilauea in Hawaii started in January 1983 and is still going strong.Originally posted by Gittins Gal View PostAnd even more inneresting, the longest eruption in the history of vulcanology lasted for 6 years and happened right here in Lanzarote.

Kilauea still going after 31 years
So 25 years longer than your piddly effort.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI hadn't really understood this 'pwned' expression until I read DirtyDog's post.Comment

no they were talking about the other beer "Man Siguel" they just spelt it wrong in the paper.Originally posted by Gittins Gal View PostIt was in a Guardian quiz.
You saying the Grauniad is wrong?Comment

Surprisingly few supermarket grade beers are brewed where you think. Much of the "foreign" beer sold in the UK, even "european" beer, is brewed here under license. Best bet is to check the bottle.Originally posted by Gittins Gal View PostIt was in a Guardian quiz.

Of course the beer sold in Spain is most likely brewed somewhere else, possibly even in Spain. While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'Comment

I had a bottle or four of Pacifico beer at Wahaca back end of last year, it was very nice.
I also had chicken with a chocolatey type sauce.
It was that sort of night.

I look forward to your all knowing and likely sarcastic and unhelpful reply.

Hi GGOriginally posted by Gittins Gal View PostAnd even more inneresting, the longest eruption in the history of vulcanology lasted for 6 years and happened right here in Lanzarote. It is the reason, basically, that the whole south of the island looks like a lava field. Incredibly there is still residual heat from that eruption and earlier today we enjoyed chicken barbecued over volcanic rocks in Timanfaya National Park.
The entire place is like the surface of Mars and, indeed, has featured in several films including 2001 a Space Odyssey. The soon to be released Spielberg sequel to Moby Dick was also filmed here.
Tenerife is like that as well. They filmed bits of Star Wars there. I visited the area around the mountain last year and it is indeed desolate.Comment

Yes, indeed. It is a lovely part of the world. I'd never been before.
I did something today that I've never done before. I played golf. Well, pitch and putt. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
