    WTF?!?!

    2) Do clients ever impose payment terms on you?
    That's a serious question?

Just looking to see what effects late payments have on your business... In particular:

      1) As a freelancer/contractor, when do you get paid by the client? What are your invoice terms?

      2) Do clients ever impose payment terms on you?

      3) In terms of cash-flow, are late payments ever an issue?

      4) Is chasing payments (credit control) ever an issue for you as a freelancer?

      5) Do you currently use any methods of credit to cover cash-flow issues caused by long/late payment? (I.e. Overdrafts, credit cards, a loan facility)

Cheers guys, looking forward to your thoughts & feedback!

Before I get going though, a much more important question -

when I made my cheese toastie this a.m. I had the toaster set on 5

now the manufacturers recommend a setting of 4, but my missus reckons it comes out raw, so we always use 5.
Of course, this morning it came out smoking and burn ed.

So, Paul. do I eat burn ed toasties, or antagonise the missus ?

Seriously, if payments start getting late, it can be a sign of financial problems for the client. Just ignore it and you may find yourself out of pocket when they go broke as I, and others I known, have discovered.

          Now, where were we.

Have you ever flown a military jet fighter to Italy to get a bowl of pasta?

You eat the burned toastie, and then you take the knob off the toaster and reposition it so that 5 doesn't burn the f***er. That way you can keep the missus happy and eat unburned toasties in future.

            That'll be £50 please

I smashed the kneecaps of an agent who was slow at paying. Although he deserved it I was sent down for 18 months . I would therefore suggest paying someone else to do it.
