Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

That is the kind of rubbish you are debating with DD.

The shelf was yeh high with a slopping edge long before the north sea was there, covered in forest. That foliage now rests deep at the bottom of the shelf. It's hard to get at though, not just HTHP but deep water too. I've got a picture somewhere.... here it is. They explored it some 15 years ago but no company, until recently, developed the technology to extract it. The production available is old news however. A number of trenches like Rochelle exist and this is in part what is driving the investment in Aberdeen as the older wells are drying up and hence the intermittent production.

I should add the development of this new technology to extract oil a depth is being developed in Scotland is also been used elsewhere in the world.

Unless something changes before September I think the Yes camping is terminally wounded.
I think the first minster needs to convey the message 'a lot will change', and prepare people for that.

If you ask me change is healthy & exciting. Scotland could do with both for a change.

Scotland could certain do with being healthy for a change.

And its an exciting place - at least being English and opening one's mouth in public is exciting(though not healthy).

Reading the papers today from my distance view it seems Scotland is being shown the door.

My French colleague was completely miffed on my behalf about the treatment residents in Scotland were receiving from the government.

They are asking to leave and planning on taking the family jewels with them. I'd say were being quite polite about it.

Scottish widows are having a nice pop at him in their latest ads. "life is better if you have a plan" is the tag line.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

It's over Scooter. The yes campaign has fallen apart.

All the remains is for Alex Salmond and his pals to line up some cushy non-jobs to keep them in the style they've become used to.

Damn. I don't want it to fall apart. I want Scotland to vote yes as that will guarantee years of top quality

I have followed this thread with interest from the first post, and whilst I am not a political animal in any way, shape, or form, will add my tuppence worth.

What strikes me personally as bang out of order, the “white paper” that includes :

                      • It would be in Scotland's interest to keep the pound, while the Bank of England would continue as "lender of last resort".
                      • BBC Scotland replaced at the start of 2017 with a new Scottish broadcasting service, continuing a formal relationship with the rest of the BBC.

No advance agreement or support from the BOE, English Government, or BBC to this, so these were assumptions: hardly a white paper / blueprint if there were no alternative options offered up if assumptions failed.

I have yet to subsequently hear any SNP Minister Interviewed who offers up a plan B.

However, now we, (the English), have seen the assumptions and confirmed he assumed wrongly, we are being labelled a bullies and Salmond is trying to say " Don't worry, they will back down when it comes to the crunch ".

It is hardly inspiring leadership is it ? Really ? It's just a sad 's wet dream put onto paper - passion extinguished by other s who wouldn't let give him one with someone elses

                      Nuff said.
